Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is a sim-style racing game; it is Horizon you want if you want the more arcade-style of Forza racing. I think the driving here is great, just as good as it is on the Xbox One and I never had any issues at all. I like how the driving is skill-based and they do a good job in giving you just a little bit of a taste of what the full experience offers. There are hundreds of cars in the full game, but here we have just over If anything, it will be getting bored of racing on the same handful of tracks over and over again that gets to you.
One of the main things that this franchise is well known for is the visuals and Forza Motorsport 6: Apex does not disappoint in that regard. Now, you will need a fairly powerful PC to get the best out of this, but if you do you will be impressed with the visuals. I did notice a few frame stutters here and there, but that was probably down to my PC.
As good as the game looks, I have always felt that the Motorsport series has always been eclipsed by the Horizon series when it comes to the environments and that is true for this game as well. It may just be a little bit of the full experience, but there is still a lot of hours of gameplay to enjoy here. I would look at this as more of an extended demo than a free-to-play game. While it does have microtransactions, you can unlock the cars, tracks, and so on in Forza Motorsport 6: Apex if you just have a bit of patience.
At the end of the day though, there is no way that I would pick this over the full Forza Motorsport 6 experience. The lack of a multiplayer mode there are leaderboards massively hurts the overall replay value. Forza Motorsport is one of the biggest names when it comes to car race games, even though it's exclusive to Microsoft, meaning only on PC and Xbox. Not only is one of the best looking car game series out there, but also a fan favorite, and it's even a reason many people go for Xbox instead of PlayStation.

You know not everyone buys those things as their only PC, right? I'd get one, but I'd not try to game on it becuase the games would run and look like trash.

My poor Surface Pro 3 doesn't even meet the minimum specs. I guess that's the price you pay for portability and versatility. To be fair, I don't think that even the best Surface is intended for anything more than very casual gaming.
